Measure twice, cut once
- Take measurements on a hard flat surface
- Measure your best fitting jeans and/or multiple pairs to "bookend" your measurements
- Less stretch produces truer measurements, but it’s best to use fabric similar to what you intend to purchase
Pull the front of your jeans up to straighten the waistband and measure across the top.
These have a waist of 18 3/4"
With the jeans laid flat, measure seven inches down the sides and then straight across. (The hip measurement is optional. It is recommended for more athletic / curvy body types.)
These have a hip of 21".
2. FRONT RISE
Flatten the front of your jeans and measure from the crotch point to the top of the waistband.
These have a front rise of 11 1/2"
3. REAR RISE
Flatten the rear of your jeans and measure from the crotch point to the top of the waistband.
These have a rear rise of 15 1/2"
Fold the leg at the inseam. Measure across the leg 1" below the crotch point.
These have a thigh width of 13"
Fold at the inseam. Measure across the leg 13” below the crotch point.
These have a knee width of 9"
6. LEG OPENING
Measure across the leg opening just above the hem.
These have a leg opening of 7 1/2"
Measure from the crotch point to the end of the hem along the inseam.
These have an inseam length of 35"
